Yanga rally to hold Simba
Ten man Yanga came from a goal down to force a one-all draw against champions Simba in the Dar es Salaam derby staged on Wednesday at National Stadium.
The 99th edition of the derby both sets of fans turn up in large numbers for one of the biggest derbies in African football.
Goals from Amri Kiemba and Said Bahanuzi ensured they both picked a point with Simba seeing their perfect start to the season ended.
Pressure was evident from onset as Kiemba caught Yanga defense napping to open the scoring with four minutes gone.
Mbuyu Twite's first real attack was parried away by keeper Juma Kaseja at the half hour mark as Yanga grew into the game.
After the interval, Yanga were a rejuvenated side and won a penalty that was converted by Bahanuzi in the 65th minute before Simon Musava was given matching orders nine minutes later.
The result means Simba are unbeaten and top of the log with 13 points while Yanga are fourth, five points adrift.
